Polisi Tanzania wapokea vifaa kujikinga na corona, watoa neno

Dar es Salaam.  Naibu Kamishna wa Jeshi la Polisi nchini Tanzania, Mary Nzuki amesema askari wanakutana na changamoto katika utendaji wao ikiwa ni pamoja na kutokuwa na vifaa vya kujikinga na corona.

Nzuki amesema hayo leo Jumanne Aprili 14, 2020 alipokuwa akipokea msaada wa vifaa vya kujikinga na corona kutoka kwa shirika la Amref Tanzania.

“Utendaji wao unawafanya wawe katika mwingiliano mkubwa na wananchi wakati wa kutekeleza majukumu yao ya kila siku , hali ambayo huwafanya wawe katika hatari ya maambukizi ya vimelea vikiwamo vya corona.”

“Pia kama jeshi tunatoa huduma za afya kwa askari na raia  katika mikoa mingi Tanzania bara na visiwani, bila kuwakinga wanazidi kuwa katika hatari ya kupata maambukizi,” amesema Nzuki.

Naye Kamanda wa kikosi cha afya cha Jeshi hilo,  Hussein Mohammed ameyataja mazingira hatarishi kwa polisi kuwa ni wawapo vituoni ambapo wananchi hufika kupata huduma za kipolisi.

Amesema pia wanapofanya mahojiano katika vyumba vya upelelezi na wanakofanya doria na utekelezaji wa operesheni za kipolisi ambapo wakati mwingine hutumia nguvu.

“Waliopo mipakani pia wapo katika hatari hususani  wanapofanya upekuzi wa watu na mizigo.”

“Utaratibu wa kuchukua na kurejesha silaha wanapokwenda lindo, ndiyo maana tunaona umuhimu wa kuwa na vitakasa mikono wakiwa lindoni na kuvitumia kupaka silaha wanapochukua na kurudisha,”amesema Mohammed.

Mkurugenzi wa  Amref Tanzania,  Dk Florence Temu amesema wametoa vifaa hivyo kwa lengo la kupunguza maambukizi.

Amevitaja vifaa hivyo kwa uchache kuwa  matanki matano ya maji, barakoa, sabuni, vitakasa mikono na vipima joto la mwili.

Amefafanua kuwa wanafanya hivyo kuungana na serikali, pia kutambua umuhimu wa kikosi cha afya cha Polisi.

Amesema mbinu muhimu kukabiliana na janga hilo ni kukata mnyororo wake kwa kufuata maelekezo ya kitaalamu yanayotolewa kila mara.

“Tulikuwa tukifanya mazungumzo na kikosi cha afya cha polisi hapo awali, lakini tulipokutana na wadau wetu Nokia tukawaeleza nia hii nao wakakubali na kuungana nasi kufanikisha msaada huu.”

“Nitoe wito kwa mashirika mengine kuwapa vifaa wahudumu wa afya na wadau wa mashirika binafsi na wafanyabiashara, kuungana na Serikali kupiga vita janga la corona,” amesema Dk Temu bila kutaja gharama za vifaa hivyo.

Amesema wataendelea kutoa elimu na hamasa  ya kujikinga na corona kwa polisi, watu wanaowazunguka na familia zao.
