ARV ni dawa pekee za kupunguza Makali ya virusi vya ukimwi

Wanaoishi na VVU waaswa kutotumia dawa mbadala

“DAWA ya ARV ni dawa muhimu na sisi watu tunaoishi na Virusi vya Ukimwi(VVU), dawa hizi tunapaswa tutumie kwa maisha yetu yote hakuna dawa nyengine mbadala kwa sasa kwetu zaidi ya ARV”.

Kwa sasa hakuna dawa yoyote iliyopatikana, ambayo inaweza kupunguza VVU kwa sasa, ispokuwa dawa za ARV ndio maana baada ya mtu kugundulika kuwa na VVU huanzishwa dawa hiyo”, maneno hayo yalisemwa na mmoja wa watu wanaoishi na VVU kisiwani Pemba.

Kufuatia hali hiyo, hivi karibuni shirika la Amref Health Africa lilizindua rasmi mradi wake wa Afya Kamilifu, unaolenga kupanua juhudi za kutoa huduma za matunzo na matibabu ya kupunguza VVU Visiwani Zanzibar na Mkoa wa Tanga, ambao unaungana na juhudi za dunia kumaliza UKIMWI ifikapo 2030.

Mradi huo wa miaka mitano unaotekelezwa visiwani Zanzibar na Tanga ambao unaunga mkono malengo mapya ya programu ya pamoja ya Umoja wa Mataifa kuhusu VVU/UKIMWI ya asilimia 95, ikiwa na lengo la kupanua tiba ya kupunguza virusi na kumaliza UKIMWI ifikapo 2030.

KATIBU Mkuu wa Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar, Asha Ali Abdalla katikati akibonyeza laptop kuashiria uzinduzi wa Mradi wa Afya kamilifu ulio chini ya shirika la Amref Health Africa.
