Mkakati mpya kumaliza Ukimwi 2030

Uzinduzi wa mradi huo ujulikanao Afya kamilifu ulifanyika  Maruhubi Mjini Zanzibar na kuzinduliwa na Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Afya Zanzibar, Asha Abdallah Ali.

Akizungumza baada ya kuzindua mradi huo, alisema Serikali itaendelea kuunga mkono jitihada za shirika hilo lenye lengo la kupambana na Ukimwi Zanzibar.

Aliliomba shirika hilo kuongeza nguvu zaidi katika makundi maalum kwa kuwa bado maambukizi ni makubwa kulinganisha na watu wa kawasaidia.

Aliyataja makundi hayo ni watumiaji wa dawa za kulevya wanaojidunga sindano, wanawake wanaofanya biashara ya ngono na wanaume wanaofanya mapenzi ya jinsia moja.

Aidha, alisema Zanzibar ina asilimia moja ya kiwango cha maambukizi na hiyo inatokana na juhudi zinazochukuliwa na serikali kwa kushirikiana na wadau wa maendeleo kupambana na ungojwa huo.

Alilitaka shirika hilo katika kutekeleza mradi huo kuziwezesha serikali za mitaa ili nazo zishiriki katika kutoa elimu katika ngazi za shehia ili wananchi waweze kujilinda.

Naye Mkurugenzi Mkazi wa Shirika la Amref Health Africa, Florence Temu, alisema mradi huo wa afya kamilifu unalenga kuongeza idadi ya watu wanaojijua kuwa wanaishi na VVU na Ukimwi wanapata huduma za upimaji wa VVU na ushauri, matunzo na matibabu ya kufubaza virusi ili kuhakikisha kwamba vinafubazwa.

“Hadi kufikia mwisho wa mradi tunalenga kuhakikisha kwamba watu wote wanaoishi na VVU na Ukimwi watakua wanajua hali zao na wanapata matibabu,” alisema.

Kwa upande wake, Meneja wa mradi huo, Edwin Kilimba, alisema kwa zaidi ya miaka 30 shirika la Amref Health Afrika limekuwa likishirikiana na serikali ya Tanzania na wadau wengine kuimarisha mifumo ya afya nchini ili kuondoa changamoto zinazochochea kurudisha nyuma maendeleo.
