Doris Mollel Foundation na mapambano ya Malaria wilaya ya Maswa

TAASISI ya Doris Mollel Foundation imetoa elimu ya kujikinga na ugonjwa wa Malaria kwa akinamama wajawazito na wanaonyonyesha katika Wilaya ya Maswa mkoani Simiyu.

Hayo yameelezwa na Mkurugenzi wa Taasisi hiyo, Doris Mollel katika Hospitali ya wilaya ya Maswa, wakati wakitoa mafunzo ya umuhimu kwa Wakinamama hao kujikinga na ugonjwa huo katika kipindi hiki cha Ugonjwa wa Uviko 19.

Alisema kuwa moja ya athari kubwa ya ugonjwa huo kwa wakina wajawazito ni kujifungua watoto kabla ya wakati na hivyo kuzaa watoto njiti.

Alisema elimu hiyo itakayotolewa katika hospitali ya wilaya hiyo  vituo vya Afya na Zahanati za wilaya hizo zitalenga kuwanusuru wakinamama hao ili wasiweze kushambuliwa na ugonjwa huo.

“Tumelenga kutoa mafunzo haya katika mkoa wa Simiyu na kuanzia tumeanza leo hapa katika wilaya ya Maswa na lengo tuweze kuwafikia walengwa katika hospitali ya wilaya,vituo vya afya na zahanati ili kuwanusuru na ugonjwa huo wa Malaria.

“Tukiwa wadau wa afya ya Mama na Mtoto tumejikita ili mama aweze kuzaa mtoto mwenye afya njema na moja ya madhara makubwa yanayoweza kutokea iwapo ugonjwa huu utamshambulia Mamamjamzito ni kuzaa mtoto kabla ya wakati yaani mtoto Njiti,” alisema Mollel.

Amesema Taasisi hiyo kwa kushirikiana na Shirika la Amref Health Africa chini ya ufadhili wa Global Fund wameweza kutoa vyandarua kwa ajili ya akinamama hao na watoto ikiwa ni sehemu ya mapambano dhidi ya ugonjwa huo.

Naye Mganga Mfawidhi wa Hospitali hiyo, Dk. James Bwire amesema kuwa ni vizuri wakinamama wajawazito wakafuata ushauri unaotolewa na Wataalam wa afya wanapofika kliniki  hasa matumizi ya dawa za kujikinga na ugonjwa huo.

Ameongeza kuwa dawa pekee ambayo itamsaidia mama na mtoto aliyeko tumboni ili asiweze kuugua ugonjwa wa Malaria ni SP tu kwani ndiyo inauwezo wa kumfikia mtoto na si dawa nyingine.

“Leo wakinamama niwape elimu moja ya Sayansi ni kwamba dawa aina ya SP ndiyo inaweza kumkinga Mamamjamzito na mtoto aliyeko tumboni ili asipatwe na ugonjwa wa Malaria hivyo mnapopewa dawa hizo mzitumie na wala msitupe na kuanza kutumia dawa nyingine ambazo hamjapewa hospitalini,” amesema.

Awali, Mkuu wa wilaya ya Maswa, Aswege Kaminyoge akifungua mafunzo hayo alisema kuwa ni vizuri akinamama hao kufuata maelekezo ya wataalamu wa afya ili kuweza kujikinga na mgonjwa mbalimbali yakiwemo Malaria na Uviko 19.

Amesema kuwa chanzo zilizoletwa nchini kwa ajili ya Uviko 19 ni salama na wala hazina madhara kwa wakinamama hao hivyo kuwaomba ambao hawajachanja waweze kuchanja kwa hiari yao ili kuweza kujikinga na ugonjwa huo pamoja na magonjwa nyemelezi.
