Life-Saving Mission: AMREF Flying Doctors Provide Free Airlifting for Injured Kenyatta University Students and Lecturers in Road Accident

March 19, 2024, 10:30 am – In response to a road traffic accident involving Kenyatta University students in Maungu, Taita Taveta County, last night, AMREF Flying Doctors is providing crucial assistance by airlifting six critically injured students and a lecturer with multiple trauma injuries. AMREF Flying Doctors has deployed two aircraft, free of charge, for this mission.

Both aircraft are currently stationed at Voi Airstrip. One of the aircraft has been generously provided by Wilken Group to support this emergency mass casualty response. The team aboard consists of AMREF’s ICU doctors and critical flight nurses.

The injured individuals are being airlifted to Nairobi for further medical treatment and care. This emergency airlift underscores AMREF Flying Doctors’ commitment to supporting mass casualty response and providing life-saving assistance, particularly in critical situations such as accidents.
